Susan’s litigation experience is wide ranging. She has had extensive experience acting in complex estate insolvency and commercial matters, including on behalf of dependants, estates, disgruntled shareholders, partners, chartered banks, trust companies, Receivers, and Trustees in Bankruptcy. Susan has acted as defence counsel in product liability, personal injury, and solicitors’ negligence claims. All of Susan’s skills coalesce when she acts in family law cases. She has a compassionate and sensitive approach when dealing with her family law clients and her background experience especially in insolvency and commercial litigation gives her insight into the “big picture”.
A “Lawyer’s Lawyer”
For almost twenty years, Susan has been a “lawyer’s lawyer”, selected by insurer and insured alike. Susan is designated Preferred Counsel by the Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company. She successfully navigates her clients through professional negligence claims, and potential claims, with a calm, steady and strategic approach.
Susan’s broad-based background provides her with a keen understanding of what clients want: a high quality, cost-effective, responsive approach that addresses their needs and interests.
Susan has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario and on countless mediations, where she has brought matters to a successful conclusion. Susan lectures frequently on litigation and risk management issues especially in the family law context. Susan Sack graduated with distinction from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in Economics in 1982. She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School with an LL.B. in 1985 and has been practicing since her call to the bar in Ontario in 1987. Before starting in 2016, Susan had been a partner at two well-known boutique litigation firms in Toronto.
Susan is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Advocates Society.
